Camping Musts

We recently ran a poll on our social media (IG:@bigskyrentals, FB:@bigskyoutdoorrentals), and it consisted of important items to bring along for a camping trip. For myself, whether it's backpacking, car camping, or backyard camping here are what I find to be most important items to bring along.

1) Pocket Knife

You never really know when you're going to need one of these, it does come in handy.

2) Lantern

This is an item I actually have forgotten at home as a kid when camping with my dad. It wasn't quite as easy as it is now to get light out your iPhone, so it was a bigger deal back then, but still is nice to be able to bring with you on a trip.

3) Fire Starter/Lighter

Can't understate enough how important it is to have something to assist with lighting a fire. You could spend days, weeks, maybe even years trying to figure out how to start a fire without a tool to assist.

4) Sleeping Pad

Sleeping pads are the difference between waking up frozen or warm, or having an achy back or not. In mild weather, it may not be a must, but trust me, whether you realize it yet or not, you absolutely do want one of these sleeping pads

5) S'mores Kit

What's camping without s'mores?!?! Can't go camping without S'mores, just like you can't serve a PB&J without jelly. Oh...and can't forget a clothes hanger or something to use to roast the marshmallow!
